Tomorrow I am off to the Annecy International Animated Film Festival where my new film, In The Air Is Christopher Gray, will be getting its wooorld premiere.

It’s showing three times:

Wednesday 12th June, 16:00 at the Salle Pierre Lamy
Thursday 13th June, 22:30 at Décavision Salle 1
Saturday 15th June, 18:00 at Décavision Salle 2

I hope if you’re visiting you can get to see one of the screenings! It should also be in the festival library.

Of all his inventions, this was the one George Hayward regretted the most. Named after his wife Vivien, and the 37 years they had been married, the V-37 suffered a control failure when a band of cloud exposed the sensitive electronics to water. The 80ft Vivien - carrying George, blind above the clouds - stomped across the small village in Hampshire for twelve devastating minutes. Crushing Mrs Evans’s cherry tree, 17 houses (four of which had recently been fitted with double glazing), a block of flats, the Parish Church, Miss Trimmer’s cat, and a Nissan Micra, before eventually toppling off the cliff and into the sea.

Vivien Hayward saw it all through a telescope and rushed to the beach to retrieve her husband. When he emerged from the sea alive she could only think to say, “It was a nice thought.”, then hurried back to the village to apologise to the vicar on his behalf.
